Contractors Plant & Equipment Insurance
The risk in focus
Civil plant insurance should account for the machines you own, hire or operate, and for the contractual responsibilities you accept when plant is hired. Plant damage, third-party liability and damage to a lifted or worked-on item may be treated differently.
Plant and hire exposures
Review scheduled versus blanket cover, accidental damage, fire, theft, transit, wet hire and dry hire, hired-in plant, replacement hire costs, breakdown, tools, attachments, site security and any loss of hire. Give us the types, values, locations and hire contracts for the equipment.
Liability is a separate review
A machine striking a third party’s property raises different insurance questions from damage to the machine itself. Crane loads and property in care, custody or control may need specific attention. Describe any work at mines, underground, near rail or on roads.
